Until now customers with Sonos Zone Player networks and Crestron Control systems have been forced to use separate remote controls. SonosControl provides the simpl programmer with an easy to use, lightning fast, rock solid interface into key Sonos Zone Player functions.
All transport functions are supported in addition to volume, mute, line-in and basic media selection such as Sirius channel, Pandora playlist or Internet radio station.
Due to the complexity of upnp and limitations in simpl+ full Sonos remote functionality is not practical with the current simpl+ toolset but should become a reality as Crestron converts their product set to series 3 and .NET
Common Uses
Room Solution Box – Using a Sonos ZP110 to provide local amplification, source selection, preampfification, music services and network connectivity smaller rooms, such as bedrooms can have a complete audiovisual solution with a minimal hardware investment (ZP110, cable box, TV and Crestron remote) whilst retaining an integrated touch panel experience.
Robust Internet and Satellite radio - Home owners wanting a simple, low cost and robust way to access Internet and satellite radio can add a ZP90 as an audio source and get touch screen access to an endless list of preset radio sources.
Low Cost, Open and Upgradeable Multi-room Audio – Multi-room audio systems are evolving at a frightening rate making last years investment look like todays museum piece. Rather than making a significant investment in a proprietary, high end system the same results can be obtained with low cost, mass market sonos products giving the home owner options to expand in non integrated areas of the house such as adding an S5 to a deck, or an ZP110 to a home office without the need for system integrator whilst retaining Crestron control in highly integrated ares of the house such as home theater.
